The American Dream
Born in Washington Heights, New York, to impoverished Cuban immigrants, Henry Rodriguez’s early life was marked by hardship. Despite these challenges, he was determined to rise above his circumstances and achieve the American Dream.
At just 26 years old, Henry started his first business by borrowing $400 from a friend, and by 27, he was a millionaire — and a multi-millionaire many times over by the age of 30.
Although he could have retired, Henry didn’t know how to stop. Driven by his childhood pain, believing it was never enough, he pushed forward blindly in search of something to fill his ache.
A telecommunication entrepreneur and early internet investor in the late 90s, his hard work and perseverance paid off.
In 1999, he bought his first significant property—5 acres on the ocean in Casey Key, Florida. In 2001, he ventured into commercial real estate, securing Wal-Mart as his first customer.
In his personal life this accomplishment stirred the toxic brew of discontent and feelings of inadequacy further.
His wealth and influence grew in Florida as he became active in political fundraising, becoming one of the state’s largest fundraisers for local, state, and national politicians.
Henry hosted fundraisers for presidential candidates, congressmen, senators, and Florida politicians including Governors Crist and Scott.
He held positions in state and local government, serving on prestigious boards such as Enterprise Florida, Sarasota Film Festival, the Sarasota-Manatee Airport Authority, and Space Florida. His leadership extended to nonprofits like the United Way, Gulf Coast Community Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity.
Henry had amassed a fortune of $100 million and spearheaded a billion-dollar buildout project. Still, he searched for something he couldn't find.
Despite his wealth and power in political circles, Henry felt miserable and unfulfilled. He found no satisfaction—only ever-greater misery and an addiction to achieving more – often at the cost of what was truly important.
In his quest for happiness, Henry dove into research and sought answers all over the globe.
Eventually he discovered the Four Pillars, and realized he needed to balance them in order to build wealth AND experience fulfillment.
